My first ever YouTube video upload

I could not be any happier that my 3-month training as a nurse in Davao Regional Hospital (DRH) has come to its official conclusion yesterday. The Culmination Ceremony went mighty fine, thanks to all the trainees for their support and cooperation, and most of all for their trusting me as their, err, President. And so much more thanks to my officers who were there to back me up whenever I needed help. It would not have all been possible had you not helped me all along. I appreciate it very much…

If you would go back to my previous post (although that was somewhat a sponsored post) I spoke of our meeting, us officers, for the Culmination Ceremony. It was not until I got home that day that it suddenly occurred to me to include a community singing of us all trainees. That idea was initiated primarily by my listening to my phone’s stored mp3 songs, particularly “Next In Line” by After Image. And so immediately I sent a message to all my officers about the idea, and they said it was a clever one.

Your college grades suck?

report card of college gradesI am lucky to have finished college with grades all aced. Although others may not regard it as luck but hard work and determination, I really would say it is the former. Fortunately, I graduated cum laude: I didn't expect it but I prayed for it. I had a grade which I thought would de-list me from being a cum laude. If I graduated merit-less, I still would have accepted it, as I was really lazy during my college days, especially on my last two years at Nursing.

I have realized that even without determination and hard work, you still can ace your grades. The basic, stocked knowledge in you and your innate skill at any academic work are your ultimate and primary aids, and perseverance is just second. I am thankful I was born with the passion and skill for writing, as it is what helped me a lot during college.

Let's face it, there is a lot of writing at school. When you do your quizzes, you write. When you sit your exam, you write. Even when you just copy lessons, you write. But more so when you do thesis and research papers. These involve a great amount of essay writing, so you really have to make a persuasive essay in order for your papers be approved with good remarks.

When you do essays, it is important to make the essay outline first, so you will be guided what topic you will discuss in each paragraph. Whatever type of essay it is that you write, whether definition essay, argumentative paper or analysis, it is but right to pack it with details of truth or your credible opinions. It is also important to choose properly the words to be utilized to amplify credibility and facilitate better understanding. You can win with words if you compose a paragraph with lines that are all coherent to the other lines in the essay you write.

Remember that your good grades at college are a great determinant your future success, so take your writing skills to the next level...

A Huddle of Games

different video game consolesComputer games have evolved so much, and I am so thankful I have been a witness to this fast evolution of video games. Back in the days, we used to play family home computer (as it is commonly called that time), these are the machines that require you to push on a slide panel at the side to eject a cartridge. But that was years ago, and video gaming machines of these days have become powerfully ergonomic, and we call them these days the “consoles”.

What do you love to play then and now?

The Sims, Pokemon, Backgammon, and mostly word games such as Scrabble, Text Twist, Bookworm, Boggle are my favorite games. Among all these, what I am drawn more to is the Pokemon, that although I have played the games already, I still play the same games over again, even up to now, on my phone, nonetheless. I admit I was also addicted to Ragnarok some years ago but I have shook off the habit of it. When I play games, especially the role-playing ones, I really would consult online communities or guide for me to play the game successfully. There are various sites that becomes the meltdown of all gamers, like in the GameHuddle Campaign. Here is another site for the gamer in you to help you get connected with other players in the world. You can create your own profile, showcase your game collections, communicate with other gamers, blog about games and make reviews of the latest game releases, and everything that is game-related.

I just have joined a forum online and it really helps, so just like any forums, this, GameHuddle, too will help.

I've been hit by the so-called goldrush goldrock

gold rock nugget
Darn, I want to get rich and have all the fun I wanted in life. Perhaps I am just too exhausted from my 3-month hospital training, without the pay. I am loving the training, but I would love it more with the salary. At least I will be compensated. But, sadly, I (we) don't receive any form of compensation. And yet, fortunately, the training is coming to an end, and it will happen on Friday. Hurray!

Because of this training, I have been behind in a lot of things. My blog, for example, has not had many posts as what it had prior to my training. Another, I only got few hours for myself to have fun, to enjoy the games I like playing, and to try out new things for experience sake, like playing online casino. Gee, it will make me rich. And I really need the jackpot! Ha ha. Oh yes I have been whipped by goldrush Goldrock. Can I earn gold with playing casino online? Not literally, perhaps, but the prizes sure are big. And when I say big, it's this BIGGG. You wait till my training ends and I can have all the time in the world for me to play the games I want. And who knows, it just might make me rich...

Empower your thoughts, right now!

man thinking negative thoughtsIn a day, there can be a thousand thoughts and ideas whirling around our head, some worth cherishing, some forgettable. Oh these are just but natural. But if ever you would want to keep a copy of that precious thought—whether it tells of your today’s joy, anger, frustration, desperation, reasons for blushing, whatever have you—you can always put it into words and put on your personal blog. Blogs these days have become so popular that almost everyone who knows how to surf the web has at least one blog.

With blogs, you can empower your thoughts as they are put into words. Pen is mightier than sword, it is even said. With your blog, you can tell the world your everyday thoughts and share whatever you feel as you wrote it to your readers. That’s one of the magic it has. You can upload photos, videos, podcasts and other media to amplify interest, or even chat in community forums in just like what provides (with free unlimited bandwidth). And while you can keep your blog public to just about anyone, you can also keep all your writing to yourself only, or to your close friends, if ever shame of sharing it just dawned on you.

When you have a blog and the years have passed, you can always look back it and read your entries and reminisce what had been of your past, very much like a diary. Have a blog now, and give power to your significant thoughts.

Miss Venezuela is Miss Universe 2008

Had I not woken up late to go on with my hospital duty, I wouldn't have been able to watch this year's Miss Universe pageant.

The Venezuelans have again added to their list another Miss Universe grand winner as the 22-year-old Dayana Mendoza is hailed Miss Universe 2008 at the Crown Convention Center (Diamond Bay Resort ) in Nha Trang, Vietnam on July 14, 2008 Monday 8:30 AM EST.

When asked by judge Louis Licari with “Do you believe men or women have it easier in life, and why?”, Dayana wittingly answered: “Um, well actually God made us to share and to have difference, but big difference between women and men, doesn’t matter whether kind of life they live, is that men think, that they think that the faster way to go to a point is go straight. Women know that the faster way to go to a point is go to the curve and fix in every curves.”

Win quick big bucks online

happy with winning moneyThe Internet since launched has paved countless avenues for every web fanatic (or web crawlers, that is) to earn money. While it may be a question to some why and how it can make money, many of the web publishers and webmasters have already earned money from their respective websites, with cash amounting to a hundred dollars to a three or four or four figure earnings each month.

But earning money is not solely limited to web publishers (this includes bloggers also) but also to those who fancy playing games. For example, if you play USA online casinos, there are huge jackpot amounts waiting for you to grab. It can be from $450 to a thousand dollars, and much more. Online casinos in my opinion is the USA online gambling that pays players the biggest once they won the game. That is why you should not wonder why many online casinos have sprung out on just about every corner on the web. Online casinos not only gives the players a chance to enjoy and while away their dull unoccupied moments but these are also an opportunity to earn a good amount of money.

Every day is a new hairstyle day

guess whose hair, different hairdos, weird
I can still remember one class I had during my college days. My Psychiatric Nursing lecturer once commented about my having a new hairstyle again, as I had another one the previous day, and I just said, “Every day is a new hairstyle day.”

I don't know if it were because of the need to be recognized or the plain interest to be a different me every day, at least in the way I look, that I had to style my hair differently each day. I would style it so that it all stood up, sometimes it looked spiked, sometimes fly away to the side, with bangs at times, or just plainly styled down the contour of my head. It was crazy, that sometimes I really would go crazy in choosing what style should I have for the day.

To style my hair I used styling gels, and I know that one day it would really take a toll on my hair. So that's why I need to choose carefully the products I use to my hair as gels, creams and shampoos. It is a need to rinse my gelled hair whenever necessary with a shampoo that contains natural botanical essences such as that of the ingredients of Bumble and Bumble Alojoba Shampoo and Bumble and Bumble Alojoba Conditioner because of my personal preference of favoring the “naturals”, as I believe it would do my hair a lot better than those synthetics, although I must admit that the natural ingredients in a shampoo may just be a claim. I also root for shampoos with sweet scents, as it would make me feel more confident.

I have tried a lot of shampoos, especially the ones that my sister and mother use, but my scalp is just different from theirs. I easily get dandruff with their shampoo, so I need to have my own brand. And this, again, comes the shampoo with botanical ingredients as they do just well on my hair without causing itches, dandruff and excessive hairfall. And has this.

Who invented dice?

red and black rolling diceDice have been around for many years and can be considered the oldest gaming instrument known to mankind. Many games from the ancient times to this modern world would not have become possible if dice were not invented.

I really got curious as to who invented the dice. I got a notion that these game implements were contrived by the Egyptian, and I may be right. But as matter of fact, the precise origin of dice is still unknown. Sophocles claim it was invented by Palamedes, Herodutus said the Lydians of Asia Minor invented them, some say it was the Egyptians to invented dice, and some say God devised it.

Whoever invented dice must be a practical genius. We could not have enjoyed today's games as Snakes and Ladders or the casino games without this small but helpful device. We would have had difficulties trying to determine who's first to go or who has better scores without the dice. So when you hold a dice, think of and thank the one who invented it, whoever he is.

How to start a small business

business arrow upPutting up a business is really one of my goals these days. I want to put up a restaurant to put my sister's degree in use. But before I can do that, of course I have to take things one by one. The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, after all.

Before putting any business, it is but wise to plan for it for it to become successful and fruitful, and to not let down every ounce of your effort and every bit of the amount you put into it to go to waste. We dream of having big businesses, but often it should start from the small ones, especially if it's personal and not of a company or corporation.

So how should you run a small business? Here are some simple tips I can dish out to you.

1. Plan. As I said above, a careful planning is crucial as this will be the forefront to everything that your business will undertake. Without this, the business may seem like a ghost; purposeless and just seems to float.

2. Gather resources. This may be material or human. If you have no capital to start a business, you can avail of some small business loans to start running your business. Furthermore, knowing who to get to man your business is important. It may be you, or a relative as an additional or hire employees.

3. Manage. It is very important to manage your business carefully. Take control of everything that goes around your business. Perk up the positive attributes and cut down the negatives. Amplify its strength and work more on its weaknesses.

4. Evaluate. Measure the end result of your business based on the plans you have set out. It is important to know what areas need specific attention and improvement. Reassess your business if it meets its goals. If not, then try working on the with the plan and actions again.

Having a business is not like playing any game, although you should enjoy it too. In this area, it should always be a win-win situation so as not to waste your time, effort and resources.

... I'm about to break

breaking wine glassTomorrow will be my last day of duty in the pediatric ward in the hospital, and I am so much thankful that up to now I still have the drive to do my remaining duty days with zest. Two weeks from now will be the culmination of our three-month hospital training. And I really think I need the break....

Going to duty, especially on the morning shifts, is really tiresome that I hate to wake up early in the morning. But every time I get to the area and had finished the shift, I feel happy that I have once again imparted my care to those needing it, the patients.

Human as I am though, I still need the care for myself. Because I have been too soaked in my training, I need to unwind, and what better way to do this than to play my favorite games, do my well loved activities, or try the games that I wanted which I never had tried before. Take for example playing online casino.

I know I cannot go to a local place that holds casino, as I fear I might be out of place. So I think playing it online will do. There are various casino sites online and you really have just to choose what suits you. Some of these accept USA players from every American state without restrictions, featuring big bonuses, free casino games, no deposit casinos, language casinos, and much more, with very comprehensive and user-friendly casino guide (just what I need as I may have hard time understanding the game). I hope I will be lucky enough to win big bucks with these. Now let me try it, or do you want to play it with me?

Yeah I really need to have a break, or I will breakdown...

My official Nursing board exam rating has arrived!

Finally, my official board rating from the Professional Regulation Commision (PRC) has arrived today. Although I have already known my rating the day I filed for the acquisition of it, approximately four months ago, it still is different to have the official rate at last. The sad thing about Philippine government processes, though, is that it is really, really slow. That is why the progress of the country is also slow. Sigh.

Okay. So now that I have my official board rating of the nursing exam, more properly called as Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination, I took last December 1 and 2 of year 2007, I will start anticipating for my license to be finally issued. It says on my claim stub to come back and claim it after 3-5 months after filing for it, and I did it last March 27. I will spend all the 5 months to wait for it and see if they really are up to their promise.

Wake up, Philippine government system! Progress on. Don’t be so damn slow…

Anyway, here’s how I did with my licensure examination. Click here to my view my every rate for every subject area.

The miracle of the woman in you: stem cell every month

c'elle logo
It is funny how science can become so resourceful that it leaves no stone unturned, to the point of even using the what can't be called “normal” and “proper”in the eyes of a layman. We have a lot to thank science for, however, as it has made our lifeeven better with every new hopeful study that it does that produces good outcomes for the betterment of the populace.

Stem cell has gained so much popularity since discovered of its huge significance in saving a life. Every year, more and more studies have been conducted to further on with the experimentation. And just today, I was surprised to the bone when I have read this news clip:

OLDSMAR, Fla., July 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- With today’s hectic lifestyle, where most women are juggling careers, family, relationships, and a host of activities, the idea of possibly facing a serious illness in the future is not something that readily comes to mind -- especially when a woman is in the prime of her life. But what most women don’t know, is that the key to treating a number of possibly life-threatening diseases that she, a parent, a sibling or even her children may face in later years, such as osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease, may be found within her own body -- in vital stem cells, which can now be harvested from her own menstrual blood.

Now, thanks to the revolutionary research and technology of C’elle, a service dedicated to providing women with a safe and easy method of collecting and preserving stem cells found in her menstrual fluid each month, even the busiest woman can take control of her future, right in the privacy of her own home. With C’elle’s non-invasive collection process, menstrual cells are processed and cryo-preserved (stored at a very low temperature) for potential cellular therapies that may be used in the future. These self-renewing cells one day may even be used for sports medicine or cosmeceutical treatments, such as anti-aging therapies.

"C’elle enables and empowers a woman to take control of her future health, and possibly of those genetically closest to her, in a fast, painless and stress free way," said Michelle Kay, Marketing and Sales Manager for C’elle. "We live in exciting times, as science and technology are discovering how extremely valuable menstrual blood stem cells really are, and the enormous treatment potential they represent for future therapies. C’elle’s ongoing research is supporting these promising findings."

For more information about C’elle, please call 1-877-892-3553 or visit

See what I told you about science being funny? Well it is amazing, however, that they have found another solution to accessing a stem cell in another media – in womens' menstrual blood no less. This may raise a brow to many people as it did with mine, as the idea alone seems likely unnatural and, well, acceptable as most people likely have the notion that menstrual blood per se is dirty, and with the added fact that it comes right out of a woman's private part, the idea of obtaining the stem cell from this media is just unbelievable. Skeptic? View Celle Client Testimonial page and you might as well believe.

All the same, it's thanks to science!

Be Nouveaurized

nouveau riche university logo falconGetting rich is perhaps almost everyone wants now. Who wouldn't want money, a huge sum of it? Anyone who would disagree may be a hypocrite. We need money to buy our needs; and we need more money to sustain our wants.

There are various ways in one earns money. Some have it by doing religiously their profession of manpower, some earn it by doing business like buy and sell, and some do it the wrong way just to get rich quick: they scam people!

Before we do our professions, we go to school first and study the fundamentals of the chosen area or field that we want to pursue. Some would spend much to go a regal school just to earn a degree. But if you are to spend $16,000 for a 2-year real estate investment course in a university, would you go for it? That seems a very large amount of cash to spend, but if I knew that what would come back to me after enrolling and getting my scholastic learning into use is twice or thrice, or even tenfolds, every month, then I would not hesitate to spend that amount in the hope that it would make me rich, nouveau riche baby!

Although the Nouveau Riche scam has floated around, Nouveau Riche University (NRU) has still not failed its students to earn the money more than what they need in life. There are just too numerous testimonials to regard the university a scam. Perhaps, there are those that do the scams, probably impostors, but you should learn how to spot a real opportunity from a Nouveau Riche scam, so you won't be victimized. Learn how to avoid Nouveau Riche scam so no amount from you will go into waste.

All it takes is vigilance. You can make money, a huge amount of it, with NRU. Just open your eyes to the possibilities. Be Nouveaurized now!

I want a new home... I want to elocate!

home autumn maple leavesI have lived in our home since I was born, and that is to say 22 years. It is just a small home, and has now shown marks of weathering what with its age. Our humble abode is under my grandfather's house, so you just imagine how small and cramped it is.

The one thing that really drives me today to work hard in my own endeavor is for me to get a new house for my parents, especially now that they're aging. I know they couldn't afford it themselves what with our current financial situations and my father's employment.

Now that the street where we live has gradually become a busy one, I am now more driven to relocate my family to a new house, a simple one for the moment, now that I still don't have a job that pays me (I still am on my training in the hospital as a nurse). Some of our neighbors has also been forced to relocate now that the street is now becoming more for commercial purposes, and I hate it because it no longer provides us privacy in our own home and lot. A considerable number of people know me in this city and it really sucks that when I come out of our house in my home attire I get kind of ashamed.

I think I will have to consider house plans to get us a new, more comfortable home. My father has also been talking about that. When the time comes, yes, I will have to avail some of those plans. And because I have the desire to go and work abroad, especially in USA, I will get me some home plans there to have us finally settled. It's a dream, I know. But it's a lot better to dream and work for it than to just be passive, dreamless. I have in my head some concepts for a home but I think I come to like wooden houses, so that's when log home plans would come in. Yet really, what I like for now may not be what it is when the time arrives. Let's just wait and see.

June 2008 Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination Result

The result of the Philippine Nurse Licensure Examination last December 2007 came out February 21 and my happiness cannot be contained seeing my name on the list. I was also the one who informed my batch about who passed among them, as on that day I was really watching out on the net what time the result would come out, refreshing the page every minute to see if the source had already been updated with the result.

I am now a nurse. And some time this month, the result for the June 2008 Philippine Nurse Licensure Exam would come out (or so they say), and new registered nurses will then be declared. Either this month or in the nearer future, it is but right to be alerted with the result. Subscribe to this blog and have the result alert sent straight to your email inboxes (or feeds if you choose XML subscription). I did this last time, and it's time I helped future nurses again in getting the news.

The Police in Him

police officer runningMy brother graduated in the Criminology course two years ago and I really hate it that he has not landed on a job today that is pretty much related to his college degree. He now works in a local supermarket which in my guess pays him a small salary. Oh how I wish that he had worked for a company or agency that pays him much more if it is not going to be related to his course. At least the salary matters.

But really I want him to be engaged in something that's related to his college course. Even my father has been telling him to apply into becoming a police, as he had already passed the qualifying exam. I don't know but until now he has moved his feet yet on the matter. I don't know what would make him do so. Perhaps giving me suits for a police like tactical pant will do. I hope so.

I want the best for my brother. I want him to the police he wanted to become. Or has he changed his mind?

How many lives have you saved?

Life is precious. And so it must be cherished.

And talking about life, how many lives have you saved so far? You may not know it but everyday, perhaps, you might have helped someone save or lengthen his life.

I want to share this music video that I had seen last week, and in the first time I watched it I had goosebumps, the good kind, as it really invokes emotions to the point that I almost cried, especially because our group can relate to it as we had just saved a life that time.

Here's "Everyday" by Rascal Flatts.

You could have bowed out gracefully
But you didn't
You knew enough to know to leave well enough alone
But you wouldn't
I drive myself crazy trying to stay out of my own way
The messes that i made
But my secrets are so safe
The only one who gets me
Yeah, you get me
It's amazing to me

How every day
every day
every day
You save my life

I come around all broken down and crowded out
And you're comfort
Sometimes the place I go is so deep and dark and desperate
I don't know
I don't know

How every day
every day
every day
You save my life

Sometimes I swear I don't know if I am coming or going
But you always say something without even knowing
That I am hanging onto your words with all my might
And it's alright
Yeah I am alright
For one more night
Every day

Every day
Every day
Every Every Every day
You save me
You save me oh oh oh oh
Na na na na na na-ah
Every day
Every day
Every day
You save my life
