An Eel-ectrifying Christmas Tree

electric eel, christmas treeWho says fishes are only good for eating? At Aqua Toto Gifu aquarium in Japan, a large electric eel is employed to power lights on a Christmas tree. The electric transmission is through copper wires which when the electric eel touches send power that lights up ornaments surrounding the Christmas tree.

Officials expect the "eel Christmas tree" to be a popular attraction for dating couples in the lead-up to Christmas Day, when the tree will be removed, reported Mainichi.
